Meet your workplace GP.
A named Mayfield GP your people see regularly at the office. When they are not there, the wider Jex clinical team is a video call or a nearby clinic away.

Why offer an onsite GP to employees?
Because the benefit is visible, used, and it brings people back to work sooner.
Problems get seen early
A GP in the building removes the reasons people put things off: travel, time off, the wait for an NHS appointment. Back pain, low mood and infections are dealt with in weeks rather than months.
Fewer lost days
Fit notes, prescriptions, blood tests and referrals are handled in the session. Employees do not lose a half day to a clinic visit for a ten-minute consultation.
A benefit people notice
A familiar GP on a published rota is remembered and talked about in a way an app subscription is not. It supports recruitment and retention as well as health.
Confidential by design
Notes stay on the employee's Mayfield clinical record. You receive aggregate usage reporting, never anything about an individual, so people trust the service enough to use it.
How workplace GP clinics operate.
Sessions are scheduled, staffed and equipped around your site. Anything that cannot be handled on the day is picked up by the same team remotely or at a Mayfield clinic.
Named lead GP, with cover
A lead clinician your people get to know, backed by an agreed cover model for leave and absence.
Dedicated clinical time
You book the GP's time, not a number of appointments, so consultations run to what each patient needs rather than to a clock.
Booked by employees, not HR
Employees book into the session themselves through the secure portal. HR sees the rota and the uptake, never the names or the reasons.
What a GP can assess and treat onsite.
The same scope as a GP surgery, in a room at your office. The few things that need hospital equipment are referred on by the same team.
Examined and treated on the day: infections, skin problems, back and joint pain, blood pressure and heart health checks, mental health assessment, women's and men's health, menopause review, travel health.
Done in the session: private prescriptions sent to a pharmacy near the patient, blood tests taken on site and sent to the laboratory the same day, fit notes, specialist referrals, follow-up booked with the same GP.
Referred on: imaging, physiotherapy, psychology and psychiatry through Mayfield's network, with results back on the same clinical record. Screening days can run in the same room.
How much does an onsite GP service cost?
Onsite is priced per reserved session, on the same contract and invoice as your subscription. The rate depends on frequency and location and is quoted in writing. Three ways employers typically start:
Starter
One half-day, fortnightly
A visible benefit for a single office. A good first pilot alongside the Access subscription.
Regular
One half-day, every week
A familiar weekly clinic for a site of several hundred people. Pairs well with Inclusive credits for the days in between.
Campus
Several sessions a week
Dedicated capacity for large or multi-building sites, with a lead GP and a planned cover rota.
Appointments in an onsite session are covered by the session fee and do not draw from your subscription credit pool. How packages and credits work.
Onsite days, video in between.
An onsite clinic is one setting in a connected service, not a standalone perk.
Between sessions
Employees use clinician-led triage and video GP through the same subscription, so nobody waits a fortnight for the next onsite day with something that needs attention now.
When an examination is needed
The onsite session or the nearest Mayfield clinic, whichever is sooner. Where we see people face to face.
One record throughout
Video, onsite and clinic consultations sit on one Mayfield record, so follow-up is joined up wherever care began.
Where we provide onsite GPs.
Onsite sessions run at employer premises across England, delivered under Mayfield Clinic's CQC registration. Travel from the nearest Mayfield clinic is built into the session rate, so sites close to one of our 19 locations are the simplest to serve. Sites elsewhere in England are confirmed at scoping. Video GP access is available anywhere in the UK.
Clinical governance, agreed before the first session.
An onsite clinic is a clinical setting. Before the first session we agree the practical and governance details with you, so the service is safe, private and predictable from day one.

Questions about onsite GP services.
How many employees can a workplace GP see in a half-day?
A four-hour session holds up to 16 fifteen-minute appointments in theory. In practice we plan for 10 to 14, because some consultations need longer, blood tests and notes take time, and a rushed clinic defeats the point. For a site of a few hundred people, a fortnightly half-day usually meets demand; a weekly session suits larger or busier sites. We review the rota against uptake at each contract anniversary.
Is an onsite GP worth it for a business with 200 employees?
Usually as a fortnightly half-day alongside the video and clinic subscription, rather than a weekly clinic. At that size the value is visibility: people see the GP in the building, use the service, and tell colleagues. Below about 150 people on one site, the subscription alone tends to be the better buy, and we will say so.
Is an onsite GP cheaper than giving everyone private medical insurance?
They are different things. Insurance pays for specialists, diagnostics and hospital treatment and is priced per head per year. A GP service is a fixed subscription plus session fees, and covers the first conversation that insurance usually leaves to the NHS. Many employers run both; for employers who want a visible, everyday benefit, the GP service is the smaller and more used of the two.
What facilities does an employer need for an onsite GP clinic?
A private room with a door that closes, a couch, a sink or hand hygiene point, and basic examination equipment, which we can supply. A quiet place for the GP to write notes. We agree chaperone and infection prevention arrangements at scoping, and we bring the clinical record on our own systems, so nothing touches your network.
How often can a GP come to our site?
Fortnightly, weekly or several days a week. The frequency is set by your headcount and demand and can change at contract review. Most employers start with one half-day a fortnight or a week.
What does an onsite GP service cost?
Onsite is priced per reserved session and added to a Jex Health for Business subscription, on one contract and one invoice. We quote in writing after a scoping conversation, because the rate depends on frequency, location and what you want covered. We do not publish a tariff.
Can a workplace GP issue prescriptions and referrals?
Yes. Private prescriptions are sent to a pharmacy near the employee. Fit notes, specialist referrals, imaging and physiotherapy referrals are issued in the session, and blood tests are taken on site and sent to the laboratory the same day.
Can employees access the GP service outside onsite clinic days?
Yes. The onsite session is one part of the subscription. Between visits, employees use clinical triage and video GP through the same service, and can be seen at a Mayfield clinic when an examination cannot wait for the next onsite day.
Is onsite GP available outside England?
Onsite sessions are currently delivered in England under Mayfield Clinic's CQC registration. Video GP access is available anywhere in the UK.
Where are records kept?
On the patient's Mayfield clinical record, never on employer systems. The employer receives aggregate activity reporting only.
Will the same GP come every time?
You get a named lead GP and an agreed cover model for leave and absence. We do not promise one person is present at every session, because that promise cannot be kept honestly.
