Employee health screening and corporate health checks.

Staff health checks and employee health assessments led by a GP: blood tests, examination and a written report, in a Mayfield clinic or as a screening day at your workplace.

A Mayfield Clinic GP reviewing an ECG trace on screen

A health check should end with a conversation, not a PDF.

Every screen is reviewed and explained by a Mayfield GP. If something needs action, the same team arranges it, from a repeat test to a specialist referral.

Employee health check

Routinely included: a GP consultation, blood pressure, pulse, height, weight and BMI, and a core blood panel covering cholesterol, blood sugar, kidney and liver function, thyroid function and a full blood count. A written report explaining each result follows within days.

Executive health check

Everything in the employee check, plus a longer consultation, a resting ECG and a cardiovascular risk score. Optional, risk-based additions are agreed with the GP against the person's age, sex, history and symptoms rather than offered as a fixed list; examples include PSA, vitamin D, iron studies or hormone tests. Time to talk through sleep, stress and lifestyle.

Targeted screens

Menopause, men's health, cardiovascular risk and tiredness panels, for groups or individuals, as a standalone screen or added to an onsite GP day.

What happens after an abnormal result

Every result is reviewed by a Mayfield GP before it is released. Anything outside the expected range is explained in the report and, where it matters, followed by a call from the GP, a repeat test, a prescription or a referral. Results sit on the employee's Mayfield clinical record, so follow-up runs through the Jex GP service without starting again.

In clinic, or as a screening day at work.

Two ways to run it, priced per person and agreed in advance. Both are part of a Jex Health for Business contract or available as a standalone programme.

At a Mayfield clinic

Employees book into any of 19 locations

Good for distributed teams and for executive checks that need a longer appointment and clinic equipment. Oxford offers the fullest range.

Onsite screening day

A GP and a phlebotomist at your premises

A private room, a published rota and samples sent to the laboratory the same day. Pairs with an onsite GP programme or runs on its own.

Health screening is not occupational health. It looks after the person, reports to the person, and never reports an individual's results to the employer.

Questions about screening.

What does an employee health check include?

A GP consultation, measurements such as blood pressure and BMI, and a panel of blood tests chosen for the person's age and risk. Results are reviewed by the GP and explained to the employee in a written report, with follow-up where something needs action.

Can screening happen at our office?

Yes. Screening days run in the same private room as an onsite GP session. Blood samples are taken on site and sent to the laboratory the same day.

Does the employer see the results?

No. Results belong to the employee and stay on their Mayfield clinical record. The employer receives aggregate, anonymised reporting only, and only where the group is large enough to protect individuals.

Is this the same as occupational health?

No. Health screening and private GP care look after the person's health. Occupational health assesses fitness for a role and reports to the employer. Jex can work alongside your occupational health provider but does not replace it.
